The Settle Series
Teach your dog to settle down on cue. Naps on tap!
Lots of dog training courses focus on how to get your dog to DO something. Our instructor Kelly Gorman Dunbar would like to teach you how to teach your dog to do nothing! That’s right, learning how to settle down in the house and just be is a skill you can teach your dog. Imagine having a dog that sits calmly by your side as you eat a meal, work at your computer, watch Netflix, or even when you answer the door.
Of course your dog needs exercise, mental stimulation, and training, but so many of us only teach our dogs to move and be active and attentive in our presence. This can lead to a dog that doesn’t know how to settle down and relax and can leave you frustrated while you constant try to do MORE to tire your pup out in an attempt to get them to settle down. It’s a vicious cycle. We are here to tell you that sometimes, less is more. It’s important to consciously teach your dog to relax in your presence as a way to improve their quality of life and enrich your relationship as well.
